Squamish river condition is improving,and those chrome chums are starting to improving too(high tide),november is the prime time,so if anybody want to hook up some chrome chums over there,get ready and join the crowd ;D ;D ;D

Today,one of my friend just came back from sqaumish chum fishing,he said there were a lot of chrome chum coming in ,so those chrome are in,but there were a lot of fishermen too.tight line

Hi hot rod ,welcome on board .yesterday ,according from one of my friend,he said the manquam section was perfect,but the squamish section was slightly colored,but was ok,a lot of fish coming in from incoming tide,some of the fish was very chromy,so go and give it a try,remember 1 hatchewry coho only and 2 chums for retention........SO what kind of hod rod do you like??the old american muscle car or the newer import power house  .i like both |

am going up to the squamish tomorrow a.m. I am fishing with my young son, 9 years old, and thought I should try to find a little space. Anybody know how productive the river is north of the Mamquam?

At the manquam will be below the bc railroad track or between where is sqaumish and manquam entrance area..Hope you and your son will have a good time tomorrow.

I believe he was mentioning the Squamish River above the Mamquam confluence. I don't have an answer to that, sorry, but however it turns out I hope your son has a blast! Will be excited to hear the report tomorrow. |

I like my Sage! 3106 for cohos,4110 for spring and a 2106 centerpin for steelhead.I'm hitting the Squamish in the morning to toss some heavy metal around.I should have a good day as the watwer conditions are clearing up nicely

river absolutely full of chrome chum, and even more crowds. If you could just trade the latter for some coho...
You have got to wonder about people. You make the effort to get to the river at first light, and by 11:00 am, you've got 3 idiots throwing their lines in between my son and I.It was full contact fishing, three, four, five floats in a ten foot area! If I'd wanted a parade, I'd have gone to Macy's.Anyhow, my son lit it up, using purple wool, and his twenty buck rod from Canadian Tire, and it's 8 lb test. Landed a sixteen # chum, and nearly another at the same weight. All in all, he played 7 or 8 fish. He was lit up like Christmas, and didn't suggest that we leave until he had been rained on pretty good, for 6 hours. Must have seen 40 chum landed, one coho, on the line for just long enough to know. I love to play fish, and some of those chum put up an epic battle, but... please show me the coho!
I hear that it is going to rain between 2-4 inches in the next 24, river needs water, but not that much. Snow level is low, when it rains that much, and melts that snow... can you say "blowout"?

Great report! It's awesome that your son had so much fun! It's too bad about those idiots though. Some people don't have any common sense or coutesy, no matter what they do. I was at the squish today and afte the rains the river did not blow out. The tops of the local mtns were covered in snow and if the air temp stays cool the river should get some colour but no blow out.As long as it is cold in the upper Squish it should be good.Now if this rains stopps and it stays cool the river should be clearing to 3 ft of vis and then the bite wil be on!
