Went fishing at the Cap. Unfortunatly it was so busy buy the hwy bridge that we couldnt get a good spot. So we fished a decent spot for a few but came up empty. Alot of the guys fishing the premo spots were getting into alot of fish, bummer for us. We took a quick peek at cable pool and it was less busy. Fished for a while longer with a few hook-ups but being 100 stories up, we couldnt land anything lol. A guy fishing the lower areas (oh and u need waders to cross) hooked and bonked a beauty spring errr coho??? couldnt really see cuz it was getting dark and far away. Anyways had fun thats what counts.

Too bad you didn't land anything, bcfisher, but you're right. It's the fun that counts!

Seen a 40lbs + spring caught at the cable pool tonight. The guys were fising on the lower rocks beside the cliffs. Was a nice fish too, no spots at all, very clean. They bonked and kept it. Good job guys guys, hope your members and post a pic.

Hi BH, yes I was fishing too. I fished the cable pool but down the stairs and next to the river where it sort of funnels before the pool. I was out today with a friend and we were sharpening our salmon river techniques up. Along the way I met this older German fellow who gave me some awesome advice. He saw that I had some bad habits while fishing. So he showed me some pointers. You know its great when the older experienced guys help out the younger newbies. I have been fishing for salmon in the rivers for only 2 dedicated seasons. And fishing from a boat in lakes about 3. I really have a lot to learn. About 75% of the time I go fishing I come home without a fish. But I really don't care because I am learning along the way and enjoy every second of it. But I really wish I had like a uncle or something like that to teach me the ropes. I know this one experienced guy but I don't think he has the patience to teach me. Just the way he is you know. But anyways thats why I like this site and others like it. Thanks guys for a cool site. Hope your membership picks up. Cheers Lucas aka BCfisher

I totally agree with the above statements-at this time this forum is starting to look pretty darn good-hopefully the few people with the large attitudes will not find a welcome mat open to them on this forum-this is supposed to help each other and also have fun!

Thanks for the comments guys ;D I'm glad that you few are dedicated enough to come back and keep this forum going. As Tyee king said, please spread the word of this forum when you are able to, as, I cannot advertise this forum on other sites. even if they aren't fishermen there's lots that have yet to be explored on this forum. ;D
Again I thank the 10 or so members that come back time after time to keep this going.

Just thought that I would give a little update. Fished yesterday morning at the Cap. Wish I could tell you the name of the pool, but not sure. If you walk north past the yellow gate on the west Van side, and walk past the last house, there is a trail at the big GVRD warning sign. take the trail down to the bottom, and there is the pool. The river was very different than when I fished it last week. It was much lower, and very clear.Coho were biting at first light, but hard sell after that. Two distinct Chum, very tired, looking to spawn, and beautiful chrome, both cases fish 6-9 lb. Chrome would bite in the rapids above the pool, cast into back eddy behind rocks, and dangle the lure in front, and bam! Nothing like pi**ing off your prey. The best thing about the morning was that I did not see another human for 5 hours! Saw one huge spring in the pool, probably 40lb, but was targeting coho at the time. Hope this helps.
