I was just wondering about mixing casting reels with spinning rods or vice versa?Since there is a difference in the size of guides between the two, would it affect your fishing in any way?Just a thought.

Hi drift, spinner rod has bigger guides and is facing down and no trigger on the rod ..And the baitcasting rod has smaller guides and is facing on the top,has a triggle on the butt end.hope his will help......Centerpin rod has small guide, guides will be facing down, rod butt end will be shaorter than the front section.and there are difference reel seat for centerpin rod, like w-fitting,sliding rings and fix reel seat.

THanks for the reply. It did answer part of my question.Like you said,on a spinning rod the guides face down.So if a baitcast reel is put on this rod,the guides would be reversed, facing up.Would this affect power or action?

Hi drift,i dont think it affect power or action depend what action of the spinning rod you buy,i think you can match anything if you like,it is just the river politics, you just dont want other anglers give you a funny looks.I always think, catching fish is not by your gears,is all by experience. Sorry i dont have any pictures of the centerpin rod,but just look at the baitcasting rod, without the trigger and the butt end cork end is shorter tahn the front cork section
