Here's a report for Drift and anyone else who pops into this site everyone blue moon. Tyee King and I got to the river by 9 am. To our dismay, the previous night's rains had made the water level rise. The colour was perfect though. We took a nature hike to explore some of the holes, and found that our favourite spot was free of anglers. We got out our rods and tossed some fresh Steelhead roe. There was a nice pool, that led to a sweet tail out. This particular spot usually holds trout, but at first there was nothing. After he finished working the tail out, Tyee King and I switched spots. Well, my first cast into the tail out wasn't the greatest of all casts. No matter, I let it drift. Suddenly, the float carefully dips, and I set the hook. At first, I thought it was a 6 inch Rainbow, but after the line tightened a little more, the fish surfaced. Pure chrome. a thought crossed my mind that it was a Cutty, but this one felt different. After a short battle, and the fish was tailed. Turns out it wasn't a Rainbow or Cutty, but a hatchery Coho! The fish measured out at just over 13 inches. Here's a picture: After that, had a few Trout hooked up, but a great day overall. Not a bad start to the Salmon season. Barbless Hook
